Dr. Bjawi-Levine is a sociocultural anthropologist who holds a PhD from CUNY Graduate Center. She lives in the San Francisco Bay Area. Dr. Bjawi-Levine has taught courses on the Middle East and the Arab World at several colleges including George Washington University and Santa Clara University. She has published articles on various topics surrounding human rights, Palestinian refugee children, and Iraqi refugees. She was born in Tunisia and grew up between Tunisia and France. Dr. Bjawi-Levine has lived, studied, worked and traveled extensively overseas. Her anthropological research has focused mainly on North Africa and the Middle East where she conducted fieldwork among Palestinian children and families living in refugee camps.
